Push your thumb too far through the ring and the resulting pressure through the pivot forces the teeth down onto the blade, creating a burr. Once this happens, the scissors are locked and will need a sharpener to correct them. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eThis is not a fault with the scissors. It is caused by incorrect thumb position and excessive pressure through the handle. Curved tooth scissors are precision tools and simply won’t tolerate a heavy thumb buried through the ring.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis is a common issue with curved tooth scissors, which is why correct handling matters.
